Removal of Impacted Wisdom Teeth:
Wisdom teeth, or third molar teeth, often become a problem in the teenage years due to lack of space in the mouth to allow the teeth to erupt. Wisdom teeth can be poorly positioned and sometimes these teeth can remain buried partially or fully under the gums. They can cause problems ranging from pain, infection, and gum disease to even jaw cysts and tumors.
The details involved with the removal of wisdom teeth will be discussed with you at your consultation visit.
Placement of Dental Implants:
Dental implants are an excellent option for replacement of missing teeth. A dental implant is a titanium screw-type structure surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw. They are then used to support and anchor a tooth or teeth.
Implant treatment usually requires two steps : the surgical insertion of the implant, and later the prosthetic restoration (actual attachment of the false tooth/teeth). These two steps are usually performed after several months of healing. The second step is accomplished by your general dentist to complete the implant process.
A consultation visit is required for evaluation and treatment recommendation.
